As I look at this picturesque winter scene of some turkeys foraging for their dinner, I am curious to know what they are eating. According to Wikipedia, wild turkeys are omnivores meaning that they eat both plants and animals. They forage in undergrowth in the forests or in shrubbery looking for grasses, berries, acorns and other nuts, seeds, roots, insects and sometimes small reptiles. These turkeys here, in this puzzle entitled “Winter Turkey Tracks” by Daniel Christ, must have found a delicious feast for so many of them to forage together under these leaves. But they better move soon or else the approaching train will ensure that they will be a delicious dinner for someone else!
