From the end of February to mid-June, if the winter rains have been plentiful in the Arizona desert, we will be treated to a glorious display of wildflowers. According to the Desert Museum, wildflowers are those flowers that only bloom with abundant rain which is a rare occurrence in the desert. Mexican Gold Poppies are example of this. Wild Flowers on the other hand include all perennials such as flowering cacti which flower every year regardless of rainfall amounts.
South Korean artist James Lee has beautifully portrayed the desert’s unusual beauty for us. If you or a loved one are drawn to art about the Southwestern United States assembling this puzzle would be a visually appealing and fun activity to do together.
