A favorite activity of many on the day after Thanksgiving in the United States is to participate in “Black Friday” sales at local stores. Some of my friends love Black Friday because of all the great deals while some of them love the excitement and energy of the day spent with eating out with friends. Of course, none of these friends work in retail. Those friends of mine have other thoughts about Black Friday!
As I look at this puzzle entitled “Christmas Streets”, and think about Black Friday, I am reminded of this fun song from 1951 written by Jay Livingston and Ray Evans.
Silver Bells, Silver Bells
It’s Christmas time in the city Ring-a-ling, hear them ring Soon it will be Christmas Day
City sidewalks Busy sidewalks Dressed in holiday style
In the air there’s A feeling of Christmas
Children laughing People passing Meeting smile after smile And on every Street corner you’ll hear Silver Bells, Silver Bells It’s Christmas time in the city Ring-a-ling, hear them sing Soon it will be Christmas Day.
Regardless of how you spent “Black Friday” on this day after Thanksgiving, assembling a great puzzle like this Christmas jigsaw puzzle would be a relaxing way to reconnect with your loved ones.
