In 1843, Charles Dickens published his immensely popular book, A Christmas Carol, upon which this puzzle is based. The story describes a bitter, miserly man named Ebenezer Scrooge who has his heart changed by the ghost of his former business partner and the ghosts of Christmas past, present and future.
His story takes place in England just as the first child labor laws were enacted. The plight of the poor in the novella shows how heart wrenching this subject was for children and for Charles Dickens, whose own childhood was spent working. But, thankfully, Scrooge was a fast learner and overnight by Christmas morning, he was able to realize the joy and blessings of being generous.
As you and your loved ones assemble this jigsaw puzzle, you can have fun discussing the various scenes as well as which movie version is your favorite [my favorites are Mr Magoo and the one with Patrick Stewart]. You can find this puzzle and other Christmas jigsaw puzzles at A+ Puzzles, Etc.
